Raw bringing it in with Inhouse at 100% Design 2019

RAW Studios 100% Design 2019 Best Product Design Award InhouseThere are a few things that keep us motivated here at Raw Studios… from the smell of freshly made coffee to start our day to exciting new products and projects that energise us and encourage us to grow and push the boundaries. The third motivator is when hard work pays off… This got new meaning this year after winning the award for the best product design 2019 at 100% Design South Africa. We have been dreaming of changing our furniture into a structure you can live in and experience every day: this year it became a reality!

The final motivator is you, your feedback, your support and excitement for Inhouse. Thank you to all our new and loyal clients that have recognized the potential in Raw Studios and the exciting new potential of Inhouse.

Soon we’ll be moving in, but for now we are moving ever forward and upwards…

With 100% Design 2019 behind us and with the overwhelmingly positive feedback received, we are eager to proceed and grow Inhouse into a product which can meet your most important needs.

After the launch of Inhouse, Visi interviewed Peet to get the inside scoop. The article will feature in this month’s issue; it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on our big idea that you might have missed at 100% Design.

We’ll keep you in the loop of the Inhouse process… but for now, please bear with us as we proceed to develop Inhouse. We are currently compiling all our information regarding it in a compact format to make it easily accessible. We are also busy uploading the necessary information onto our website for quick referencing.

Remember to keep an eye out in your inbox; you may receive a link, a catalogue, a video… who knows? But more exciting information will follow.

Too eager to wait for more information? Follow us on Instagram @rawstudiosraw for weekly updates regarding Inhouse and other exciting projects.

Designing for projects means starting from scratch and giving so much more than defined in the brief: It’s Time for Stilts™, part 2…

It’s been more than a year since we introduced you to how Raw applies design supply services to large projects, so we thought it’s time we give you a refresher of what’s been unfolding at the University Pretoria / Earthworld Architects’ Future Africa Institute project and more specifically our Stilts system.

Still, remember the first sneak-peak snapshots we sprinkled into your inbox? (Missed it? Don’t stress, see our first steps here.) A lot has happened since then! Where to begin?

Well… Not too long after the sneak peek we took Stilts™ out for a field trip, just to see what she’d look like outside her comfort zone. The feedback was immense, autographs were asked, cameras were flashing, we even had to calm the crowds down. Because you see… Even though she made a great first impression, this was only the start of the Stilts™ journey.

Fast forward to the present day. The Future Africa Institute construction is well underway and completion on the project is drawing ever closer. Soon after the construction dust settles, Africa’s next generation of scientists, researchers and bright minds will be working their magic from these new study headquarters.

Words from the client: Raw not only delivered on all the requirements of the brief but the resulting system turned out easy to install and super useful as well as quirky and elegant. Stilts has, to a large extent, defined the look and feel of the residential interiors on this project.
