If you find yourself surrounded by good people, well-brewed coffee, and cool retro holiday pics, chances are you’re at one of Tribeca Coffee’s three stunning buildings in Centurion, Pretoria. Great coffee, good food and the best memories of places and times gone by is the feeling that hits you when you walk into the offices and look around at the photography of bygone holidays, retro cars and days in the sun… It all contributes to a feel-good positive outlook that this company is well known for. That said, it doesn’t mean that the workspaces at Tribeca are light-duty. The people here work hard at the brand and they need hardworking workstations, shelving, storage and lab furniture which we gladly provide as they understand and seek the economic value of the Raw aesthetic built into all of our products. We have been working with Tribeca since they moved into their first building many years ago (see more projects here) and since then they found ways to include Raw Studios in many of their ventures, including retail venues and mobile coffee stations. From stained coloured doors that complement their style to functional storage which keeps all the admin in place, Tribeca continues to curate their workspaces and combined with good coffee, and a laid-back atmosphere it has been an interesting and winning formula.
Everyone knows by now that open plan offices are bad news, and for good reason! No one wants to be in a space where work becomes a battlefield of distractions vying for your attention: Sally’s loud chatter about last night’s date, Thabo’s ridiculous morning smoker’s-cough routine or the umpteenth courier scuffling past with yet another delivery for Valentine’s – – to name just a few.
With all this noise going on in the background you may not hear us whispering the tales of the new office revolution. What do we mean? you ask. We have the right solution in place to balance out the downfalls of the open plan by offering the best of both ‘open and private office worlds’.
It’s called Wallspace™. From now on the open plan office will have way less power to produce headaches and distractions because our modular walling system is designed to improve the workplaces that we spend much of our waking hours in.
It is the perfect tool to create spaces and environments that improve focus and offer balance for individuals and teams at work. With its partitioning and acoustic capabilities; quiet spaces, meeting spaces and team spaces can easily be configured without the need for costly renovations.
The expanding list of capabilities we were drooling over in our previous posts was just the beginning, see how Wallspace quickly transforms open space in the introductory video below:

Despite all the project specific design/supply happening in the background, our Epik workspace range is proving itself as adaptable and timeless as ever with more and more businesses seeing value in a well-considered workplace.
A client recently approached us, stating that “Our workspace had become a grey, muted and uninventive environment, with staff members confined to their desks, silently completing one task after the next and shying away from others behind their cubicles”.
When Raw was asked to help, we knew immediately that beyond the essential focus work areas, the office needed agile spaces, spaces which encourage change and enable new ways of working without restrictions. Here’s the low down of how we transformed their offices:
Firstly, places where employees could meet up and merge ideas were introduced to break outdated rows of tables. We added a standpoint to the mix to let innovation sprout by enabling co-creation moments.
Then, we added pause areas to help change the rhythm of the workplace and offer a moment to refuel.
Also, to get employees out of their seats, to come together and brainstorm, a hub was added making collaborations and presentations easier.
Take a walk through the project and look around in this 360° video for an immersive experience of work Epik.
A month down the line, we chatted to the client about their new workspace, and this time their tune had changed: ”Raw Studios equipped us with the tools needed to draw people out to engage in impromptu interactions, to share inspiration and get ideas flowing freely. It was an innovation game-changer for us”.
One of our core missions at Raw Studios is to improve the workplace of today, and to make corporate industries understand the need for healthier, considered and quality-centred spaces in an office.
This mission faces uphill battles some days and victories on others, but the process is all the more worthwhile when we come across like minded organisations investigating the notion of future workspace and how we all need to alter our thinking and change the workplace to ensure positive experiences.
Two of those organisations are; local Integrative Consulting and international ARUP, who emphasise the importance on how the workplace needs to evolve to ensure beneficial outcomes for the employee, employer, and stakeholders.

For three months now we have been engaged in developing what we believe are products that will help activate and energise workplaces and specifically help teams to do their thing effectively.
Essentially a standing meeting, brainstorming or simply a connecting point. Here you can plug in (and charge) your devices and have a formal or informal meeting, a quick brainstorm or a full-on work session. Equipped with a monitor arm, a light and even a place for greenery and stationary, you would be hard pressed to find it wanting any respect.
A multi functional, mobile and very flexible station where teams come alive. Hub can be moved around and deployed wherever great team work happens. It carries chairs and tables on its back and is loaded with collaboration infusing features such as a magnetic whiteboard, a monitor and charging ports. Hub has got your back… and your front.
If it’s quiet contemplation, focused work or a core team meeting that you need, this quirky space has been re-designed to give more options in use and is now easier to open up to the world out there or close up to forget about the world out there.
The Epik workstation is well known for its comfort, affordability and natural materials and it remains to fulfil a vital role in the office of the future. Here is where focused work and research happens, where individuals can shine. Where insights are transformed into solutions.
